Bees and Golddiggers: Why They Don't Coexist

Okay so this is going to be a bit of a boring start, but I promise to make up for it.  Our blog assignment boiled down to "Can someone reach success or riches with magic or marriage? How realistic is that?" Of course, with Cinderella's story in mind.
My first reaction is to think with my English major and question the words of the question, as a structuralist might.  What is success? Is it someone’s personal happiness?  Is it wealth and fame?  Is it leaving a legacy and being remembered by the world?  To a bee, this is very simple.  Wealth, fame, other bee hives, and future bee hives: none of that matters.  All that matters is that the hive survives the day; pollinate the flowers, make honey, and keep the Queen content.  It is a simplistic lifestyle, yes, but it is something many humans should take note of.  They are so focused on achieving the next great thing that they miss what they have at hand.  In that case, success can never be achieved.  Marriage and magic would simply be a stepping stone, but such a person would never be satisfied with what they have.
